TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The following terms and conditions represent the basis upon which training is offered by Denise's Driving School. The provision of training is subject to the acceptance of these terms and conditions.
UPON BOOKING YOUR FIRST LESSON, YOU AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF DENISE’S DRIVING SCHOOL.
BOOKINGS
The first lesson needs to be paid for in advance and at the time of the booking being made, as this is a time slot that could be offered to other students.
CANCELLATION POLICY
There is a 48-hour cancellation policy in place that is agreed upon by both instructor and student with the reservation of the students first hours booked and up to the final hours booked for tuition and test.
This policy requires a minimum of 48 hours notice for any reason that a student should require to cancel their lesson.
If the required notice is not given then the full amount of the lesson duration becomes due and will need to be paid on the day of the cancellation. This includes cancellations relating to Covid-19.
ALL AND ANY CANCELLATIONS ARE COVERED IN THIS SECTION INCLUDING ANY TRAVEL, WORK, FAMILY OR HEALTH RELATED ISSUES BEING THE REASON FOR THE STUDENT OR THEIR REPRESENTATIVE CANCELLING THEIR LESSON.
DRIVING LICENSE
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they have the correct provisional license to drive a motor vehicle. It must be valid and undamaged. The license must be produced and a copy kept by the instructor for the duration of the lesson plan. The license must belong to the student taking the lesson.
PAYMENTS
All payments must be made at the commencement of the lesson and be paid in cash or by the BACS payment system and must be cleared funds prior to the lesson commencing. We do not provide a credit system. A £30 admin and booking fee applies to all prepaid 10 hour lessons and vouchers.
LESSON DURATION
All lessons are for two hours. The instructor will endeavour to provide the same slots on a weekly basis however there is some flexibility to provide instruction at a convenient time negotiated by the student and the instructor.
The student should present their self for their lesson at the time required. Any delays to the start of the lesson caused by the student will be deducted from the overall lesson time.
TRAFFIC
The instructor cannot be held responsible for any lateness that should arise from the build up of traffic or road works, however any time lost will be added to the immediate or following lessons.
The instructor will always ensure that the full lesson time is provided.
TRAINING LOCATION
This is at the discretion of the instructor inline with the ability of the student during each and every lesson.
STUDENT PROGRESS
This will be discussed between the student and the instructor who will highlight the highs and lows of the student’s ability.
The instructor will explain the student’s progress as their ability improves.
DRIVING TEST
The test shall be booked inline with the instructor’s agreement once the required standard has been met by the student’s ability.
If the student is deemed unfit for test on the driving test date then the instructor has all the rights to withdraw both student and vehicle from the test.
VEHICLE FAILURE
The instructor will do everything possible to ensure the training vehicle is of a good roadworthy condition, however if the vehicle develops a fault prior to and during a lesson then the instructor cannot and will not be held liable.
The vehicle will be repaired as soon as possible so training can resume at the next available opportunity.
Any time lost will be added and any lessons that have to be unfortunately cancelled will be rescheduled.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Both student and instructor must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
If the instructor feels that the student is unfit to drive through any kind of substance or is too nervous to take control of the vehicle then the code of conduct would have been broken and the instructor will cease the lesson immediately. Full payment will be due at this point.
